| BANGKOK - KHAO YAI (L, D) | |||
| Morning
departure from Bangkok to Saraburi. On the way stop at Wat Phra Buddhabat
one of six royal temples in Thailand with a revered Buddha footprint. Lunch
at a local restaurant. Continue to Khao Yai National Park, the oldest in
Thailand and an ASEAN Heritage Site. On the way short stop at Wat Thep
Phitak Punnaram to see the white marble Buddha. Dinner at a local
restaurant. In the evening there is the option to take a night-safari in the
National park with a Park Ranger where you wil have the best opportunity to
view wildlife. Overnight in Khao Yai.

| KHAO YAI - PIMAI - KORAT (B, L) | |||
| After
breakfast, visit some waterfalls and a bamboo suspension bridge before
leaving for Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima). After a visit to the Thao Suranaree
Memorial Wat Sala Loi, lunch at a local restaurant. In the early afternoon,
continue to the Khmer archeological site of Pimai 60km to the northeast to
see Khmer temples built by King Jayavarman VI in the eleventh century and
pre-dating Angkor Wat. Return to Korat in the late afternoon. Overnight in
Korat.

| KORAT - PHNOM RUNG - MUANG THAM - SURIN (B, L) | |||
| After
breakfast, visit the pottery village of Daan Kwian before continuing to
Phanom Rung Historical Park, the best restored of all Khmer monuments in
Thailand. Also visit the nearby Prasat Muang Tham, an older Khmer temple
built by King Jayavarman V. Lunch at a local restaurant in Prakhon Chai
before continuing to Surin and further on for a visit to Prasat Sikhoraphum
30km to the northeast. Overnight in Surin.

| SURIN - PHRA VIHARN - UBON RATCHATHANI - KHONG CHIAM (B, L) | |||
|
After breakfast, drive southwards to the
site of Khao Phra Viharn, a stunning mountaintop Khmer temple perched on a
cliff of the Dangrek mountain range. The temple is actually on Cambodian
territory but accessible by road from Thailand. Lunch at a local restaurant
before continuing to Ubon Ratchathani and Khong Chiam, a riverside village
at the Laotian border overlooking the confluence of the Mun and Mekong
rivers. Overnight in Khong Chiam.

| KHONG CHIAM - UBON RATCHATHANI (B, L) | |||
| After
breakfast, enjoy some free time in the morning before driving to the nearby
site of Pha Taem to see 3,000 years old cliff-paintings. Continue with a
visit to the border town of Chong Mek. Stop for lunch on the way at a local
restaurant. End the tour with a transfer to Ubon Ratchathani airport or to
the border to cross over into Laos.
